
Every so often, something actually very clever appears on YouTube. Unfortunately, it’s usually so deeply hidden behind a trillion videos of SuBo delivering yet another ear-bleeding dirge that you never get to see it. But not always.
When YouTube launched video annotations, it opened up loads of interesting creative possibilities and some brands – notably Samsung’s Follow your Instinct game – were quick to take advantage of it. And now an entire agency, Boone Oakley, has gone even further by hosting their entire website on YouTube.
The idea is simple, the execution is charming, and unless YouTube get their video knickers in a twist over it, it should be very successful. In fact, it’s so gratingly brilliant that I’m green-eyed with jealousy. Bastards, the lot of ‘em.
